Two little decks,
then some stain.
I built a small deck by the patio, then another along the side of the house. The dogs were around for both. Months later, I came back and stained the boards. The full build and stain story is in the video.

THE PROJECT
One deck led to another.
The first platform gave me a place for the storage chest and a chair. I planned for eight deck boards and ended up needing nine. I also wanted more support at the front. I carried those lessons into the second platform near the garage, and braced a 4x4 post there.
I left the wood alone for months before staining it. The mahogany color was a big change. The video finishes with the stain can, brushes, pail, pole, applicator and the bucket of water I used while cleaning up.

Stain and supplies
The can in the video is Ready Seal 130 Mahogany, and the paint pail is a HANDy Paint Pail. These links go to a two-can stain bundle and a pail kit; the footage does not establish those exact package contents.
